Q & A

Things to Know Before and After Your Service

If you've never been sugared before you probably have a lot of questions. Here I will fill you in on what to expect. What the etiquette is before your service is and what the do's and don'ts are after your service.

Before Your Service

Arrival: Please arrive a few minutes early to find parking, fill out any new client paperwork and to use the restroom.

Hair Length: Your hair length in any area getting sugared should be 1/4-1/2". It is always better to have too much hair vs. not enough. Although Sugar is great at getting the little hairs, it still needs something to grab onto. A good rule to remember is to always schedule at least two weeks out from the last time you shaved.

Trimming: If you can help it, please do not trim prior to your service. Often times clients will trim too short. When this happens they have to be turned away at the time of the service because it's just too short.

Menstrual Cycles: In this industry it's just part of the job. That being said, our main concern is your comfort level. If you are not comfortable getting a bikini service on your cycle, you are welcome to reschedule. If you plan to keep your appointment we only ask that you wear a tampon to keep your technician safe and the linens clean.

Hygiene: Ideally everyone would come freshly showered for their appointments but let's be real... life happens. Not all of us have time to squeeze in a shower. The areas of main concern are underarms and bikinis. If you have time to shower, please do. If not, no biggie. You'll be provided with wipes to clean up the area prior to your service.

TIP: Your sweat has a ton of bacteria in it and having clean skin will help avoid those angry red ingrowns. Ingrowns can be caused by that bacteria, so showering is optional but it's in your best interest.

Medication: Certain medications affect your skin and how your skin responds to sugaring and waxing. Listed below are medications and specified times you must be off of them before getting sugared. The main concern is to keep you safe and your skins integrity intact. If you have any concerns or questions, please speak with your doctor.

-After 24hrs you will want to lightly exfoliate 2-3 times per week and moisturize daily.
